United MileagePlus Business Card 50,000 Bonus Offer

United MileagePlus Business Card 50,000 Bonus Offer

A 50,000 United MileagePlus Business Card offer is available (may be targeted) after logging into your United MileagePlus account. Here are the details:

  • 50,000 bonus miles after you spend $2000 in the first 3 months of account opening
  • 10,000 bonus miles every calendar year you spend at least $25,000 on your card
  • 2X miles on United ticket purchases and for spend at restaurants, gas stations, and office supply stores
  • 1 mile per $1 spent everywhere else
  • Check your first bag for free
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • 2 United Club Airport Lounge Passes per year

Here's how I saw it appear in my husband's United MileagePlus account, along with a similar 50,000 United MileagePlus Explorer personal card offer:

1. Log Into Your United MileagePlus Account and Select “Get Credit Card” from the Products and Services Tab

You may also see a banner somewhere for the card, so you could just click on that, but you should also be able to access it by going to the Products and Services Tab and selecting “Get Credit Card” from the dropdown.

2. First Click on the United MileagePlus Club Business Card

For whatever reason, if you first click on the United MileagePlus Business card, the lower 30,000 bonus miles offer appears. Instead, try clicking on the United MileagePlus Club Business Card first.

3. Now Click on the United MileagePlus Business Card Tab

After having clicked on the United Club Business Card, click on the tab to the left, for the United MileagePlus Business Card–you should now be able to see the 50,000 bonus offer (first image of the post).

4. Don't Worry If Your Application Goes to Pending: Call Reconsideration and Submit Documents

My application actually went to pending, so I called reconsideration and was told they would like some documentation of:

  • Business name
  • Business address
  • EIN
I was asked to fax this to 888-643-9628. You may be instantly approved and not have to do this, but that's the fax number to send it to you if you are asked for documentation.

FAQ

Is it Still Even Worth Earning United Miles with the United Award Chart Devaluation?

Since you won't earn the bonus by the time before the United Award Chart Devaluation, this is a good question.

It depends on your own travel needs, but even with the devaluation I like to replace at least some of the miles I've burned, so as to have a stash of miles for future travel needs. With the United Award Chart Devaluation I won't be redeeming United miles for future long haul international first class travel to Asia, Europe, etc. on Star Alliance partners, but I probably will still redeem for future Hawaii or domestic trips, and South America is also largely unaffected by the devaluation.

Do I Need to Have a Business to Apply for a Business Credit Card?

Many things can qualify as a small business, from the occasional consulting gig to selling things on eBay, Amazon or Etsy, to just being in the planning stages of a small business. It's worth having a separate business card to separate out business expenses, and you need not incorporate or even have an LLC to apply for a business credit card–you can simply use your own name and social security number. Just be honest when completing your application (don't make up a business name), as Chase and other issuers may well ask for documentation of your business name, business address, and EIN or social security number,

Can I Receive the Bonus Again If I've Had This Card Previously and Cancelled It?

Per the terms, no: “This bonus offer is valid only for first-time United MileagePlus Business Card cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing United MileagePlus Business Card cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer.” You may be lucky and be able to get it again, but don't count on it; it's harder to get the bonus again for the exact same Chase card, than with other issuers.

Have you gotten the 50,000 United MileagePlus Business Card or plan to get it?
