Korean Air Skypass Ultimate Rewards transfers are returning January 25, 2015 per a Chase secure message I received, after a TravelSort reader alerted me to a similar message he'd received:
“Thank you for contacting Chase about transferring points to Korean Airlines.
For contractural reasons, Korean Air was removed as a points transfer partner in Ultimate Rewards. Chas has renegotiated the contract for Korean Air and it will return as a points transfer partner on January 25, 2015.
If you have any further questions, please reply using the Secure Message Center.
[Chase Service Specialist]”
I also reconfirmed the January 25, 2015 date with a Chase supervisor, who noted that the contract had been agreed on January 15, and transfers would return January 25. This is good news, and confirms that the earlier indication, from the Korean Air Web site that Korean Air Skypass Ultimate Rewards Transfers Would Return in January 2015 was correct.
Korean Air First Class is a great way to get a family to North Asia, especially since it's harder than it used to be to book Cathay Pacific First Class in advance, and you'll generally only see 1 ANA First Class award seat available in advance, as I mentioned in ANA First Class Awards Available Frankfurt, Seattle, Houston to Tokyo. And even with Singapore Suites, you'll only be able to book up to 2 Singapore Suites awards at the saver level.
Just note that you may not get your macadamia nuts served perfectly warm and on a plate 😉
