Just a quick note that InterContinental is at 8X in the Ultimate Rewards Mall, so combined with the 5X for hotels using your Chase Freedom, you could get 13X for an InterContinental stay this month (also good for other hotels in the InterContinental group, such as Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express). This is actually the same as November, when it doubled over the October bonus of 4X (InterContinental 9X and Kohl's 15X with Freedom and Ultimate Rewards Mall), but December is your last chance to get the 13X since hotels are NOT a 5X category at all in 2013. Note that InterContinental hotel gift certificates are NOT eligible, so you'd need to actually have your reservation this month, during December, for it to count. You can see these terms when clicking through the Ultimate Rewards Mall to InterContinental:
If you did manage to max out this bonus with $1500 in InterContinental stays in December for 13X points total per dollar spent, you'd earn a total of 19,500 Ultimate Rewards points–that's in addition to Priority Club points you earn on the stays.
Kohl's is still at 10X in the Ultimate Rewards Mall, so with your Freedom, you'll still get 15X for Kohl's with the UR Mall and your Freedom card. The nice thing, as I mentioned in our update to Kohl's 15X with Ultimate Rewards Mall and Freedom, is that currently Kohl's is offering an extra 25% off through Monday December 3, along with free shipping for orders over $50. If you need to get some Christmas shopping done anyway and Kohl's has what you need, it could be a good deal and garner lots of points.
