How to Combine Ultimate Rewards Points on New Chase Web Site

“Is there a way to combine Ultimate Rewards points between accounts on the new Chase Web site?” asks TravelSort reader Raymond in a recent comment.

A couple of Chase cards–the Sapphire Preferred, Ink Plus (Ink Bold is gone)–are linked to Ultimate Rewards points, the most valuable use of which is to transfer out to a frequent flyer program such as Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, to fly Singapore Suites, or Korean Air SkyPass, to fly Korean First Class. You can combine points from your various Ultimate Rewards accounts, and even from the no annual fee Chase Freedom, as long as you have at least one account linked to Ultimate Rewards. That way you can consolidate all your Ultimate Rewards points in one account, then transfer to a frequent flyer program to redeem for an award.

Chase's updated Ultimate Rewards Web site looks slicker than the previous version, but it has some kinks–for example I get an error page when I try to click through to Ultimate Rewards from one of my individual cards. I also dislike the Ultimate Rewards Mall layout compared to the prior version, when it was possible to see at a glance all the bonus amounts on one page, instead of having to click through several pages, but I digress.

Back to combining Ultimate Rewards points:

1. Login to Your Chase Account and Click on “Go to Ultimate Rewards”

2. Select the Ultimate Rewards Account You'd Like to Go To

3. Select “Combine Ultimate Reward Points” in the Drop Down

4. Specify Which Account You'd Like to Move Your Points To

In my case, I want to combine my Chase Freedom points with my Ink Plus points, and have these points in my Ink Plus Ultimate Rewards account.

5. Specify the Number of Ultimate Rewards Points You'd Like to Combine

In this case, I'm combining all of my Chase Freedom points with the Ultimate Rewards points in my Ink Plus account, although you can instead choose to transfer only some of your points instead of the entire balance.
