Chase Sapphire Preferred: Refer Friends for Up to 50,000 Bonus Points

Update: This promotion is targeted; Chase is excluding some cardmembers from eligibility for this promotion. I was told my Freedom is NOT eligible for this promotion, and that's what was causing the login error. Never mind the fact that the Terms do not mention targeting; it is in fact targeted.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred (and also the regular Chase Sapphire and the Chase Freedom) now allow you to refer friends for 5000 bonus points per approved friend, up to 50,000 points total for 10 successful referrals. At the moment these are the only 3 Chase cards offering Refer a Friend bonus points; other Chase cards, such as the Ink small business cards, are not eligible.

Since American Express no longer offers referral bonus points for its U.S. AMEX cards, it's nice that you can refer friends to the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire and Chase Freedom card, for 5000 bonus points for each successful referral.

Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Freedom Referral Program Details

Chase Refer a Friend Link (for Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire and Chase Freedom)

• Receive 5000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points for each friend referred by the Refer a Friend Link by 1/31/14 who is approved and makes first use of the card by 5/31/14

• Refer up to 10 friends (per card)

• Maximum bonus for successfully referring 10 friends is 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points (per card; so 100,000 points total possible if you successfully refer 10 friends for the Sapphire Preferred, and also 10 friends for the Chase Freedom)

• Please allow 6-8 weeks after a new cardmember's first use of the card for bonus points to post to your account

• If a referred friend already has a Chase Sapphire Preferred card or the email address is in the email opt-out database, no email will be sent

• Chase Employees are not eligible to refer friends for this promotional offer
