Book American AAdvantage Business Class Awards to Europe with No Fuel Surcharges, with a few dates available this summer, and much more award space available in fall 2015, per Ben.
Many clients and readers ask how they can get to Europe without paying high fuel surcharges on British Airways. British Airways has tons of routes from the U.S. to Europe, but British Airways Business Class is a rather tired product, and it's even more unappealing when having to pay fuel surcharges of about $1000 per person roundtrip. And British Airways First Class awards are increasingly scarce, especially when booking from the West Coast and when booking for two people.
Airberlin is a good alternative if you can find award space, but of course it's not an option from the West Coast. There was more of this space available last month, in conjunction with US Air switching its saver business class code, although that deal died quickly (see Act Fast: Business Class Award Space to Europe and Israel on US Airways)
American Airlines' New Business Class on the 777-300ER is great, but has been very scarce in terms of award space. Fortunately, there's more award space now than we've seen for awhile, including routes such as LAX-LHR that feature AA New Business Class.

Here's the award calendar for summer, when a few days have award availability:
And here's the award calendar in September-October, when award space is more plentiful:
When you click through, you can see flight details–American labels its 777-300ER as 77W:
New York JFK to London LHR
New York to London is also a high demand route, and there's still a number of days in summer and fall for business class award availability.
Here's the award calendar for August:
If you can't find award availability for your dates between JFK and LHR and have the time, consider instead flying between JFK and CDG and taking a connecting flight to or from LHR. It could still work out cheaper than paying fuel surcharges on British Airways flights.
And if you don't have AAdvantage miles but are rich in Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles, you can of course book American Airlines awards using your Alaska miles, online.
