This review of Nimb Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark is from our 2022 stay in a Junior Suite overlooking Tivoli Gardens, the third oldest operating amusement park in the world. Nimb Hotel's room rates even include complimentary entrance to Tivoli, and TravelSort Clients enjoy Virtuoso benefits, which we describe below.
.
Nimb Hotel Location and Check-In
Nimb Hotel is located in Tivoli Gardens itself, at at Bernstorffsgade 5, across from the Copenhagen Central Train Station. A train from Copenhagen Airport to the Central Train Station takes only 13 minutes, and trains run every 10-12 minutes.
The lobby is small, but pretty, with all the fresh flowers, and there was no wait at reception. We arrived in the late afternoon (regular check-in time is 3pm) so our Junior Suite was already ready.
.
Junior Suite
Nimb has just 38 rooms and suites, which makes advance reservations during the busy summer and holiday periods imperative. Junior Suites (484-560 square feet) can accommodate up to a family of four, with two adults in the king bed and up to two extra beds (at additional cost) for children, so there was ample room for our family of three. Ours even had a working fireplace, although since it was the summer, we didn't have occasion to use it.
.
We had a nice view overlooking Tivoli:
.
All of us slept incredibly well, the bed here was much, much more comfortable than in our supposedly “luxury” apartment rental, and Nimb has excellent blackout curtains that also contributed to far better sleep here than in our Copenhagen rental.
.
Welcome amenities included some artisanal beer, and a Rubik's cube, lemonade, and Tivoli popcorn for our son.
.
The bathroom was all in one room (no separate toilet chamber) but was otherwise excellent, with double sinks, a walk-in shower and separate soaking tub, bathrobes, slippers, and in addition to the shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and moisturizer, an array of toiletries that included a dental kit, comb, and even face mask.

Breakfast at Nimb Brasserie
We've never all slept in until 10am, but we did at Nimb due to being so tired and because the beds were so comfortable. Thankfully, we didn't miss breakfast, since Nimb Brasserie serves breakfast until 11am. And you don't want to miss breakfast at Nimb: even though it's a relatively small boutique hotel, there's a well-curated breakfast buffet that includes fresh squeezed orange juice, whole fruits, ramekins of berries, vanilla bean yogurt, homemade granola, pastries, breads, and cold cuts:
.
As a Hawaiian, I was particularly happy to be able to have fresh passion fruit for breakfast:
.
Additionally, you can choose a cooked to order main dish from the menu:
.
Our son enjoyed his Eggs Benedict with Salmon, which I was pleased to see also came with spinach:
.
My Spinach Waffles with cold smoked salmon, avocado, cottage cheese and pistachios was a work of art, but tasted even better than it looked:

Nimb Rooftop Swimming Pool
On warm, sunny days, Nimb's rooftop pool and loungers are a delightful way to relax. The pool is open daily from 7am-11pm, and typically closes for the season in early November. There's also an adjacent bar for the requisite poolside drinks.

Tivoli Gardens
If you've ever dreaded a visit to Disneyland or Walt Disney World (lines, crowds, expense, etc.) Tivoli is an absolute delight: it's of a manageable size, with beautiful garden areas for tired adults to sit down in, lines for all but the most popular rides are often quite short, and it doesn't have that over-commercial feel of the Disney parks. My husband and teen enjoyed the Dragon Boats and Haunted House, and our teen especially liked The Golden Tower, with its free-fall adventure.
.
The Verdict
Some luxury hotels have cut back post-pandemic in terms of service, room amenities, breakfast quality, and more, but we're happy to report this wasn't our experience at Nimb, where our second visit was just as wonderful as our pre-pandemic stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to welcome amenities in the room (including a Rubik's cube for our son), a plethora of toiletries, fantastic breakfast with both buffet and a la carte dishes and of course access to Tivoli amusement park, we thoroughly enjoyed everything Nimb Hotel had to offer and continue to highly recommend it to clients bound for Copenhagen. Just be aware that Tivoli does host Friday night rock concerts in the warmer months, so those who go to sleep early or families with kids will likely want to avoid concert nights for their stay.
