Explora is sometimes nicknamed “the Aman Resorts of South America” given its combination of luxury with remote, beautiful locations, although note that the accommodations are lower key rooms, not stand alone villas as at many Aman resorts. Note that at the time of writing, Argentina, Chile and Peru are all closed to international arrivals, apart from citizens and permanent residents, and Explora lodges are also closed until October 1, 2020.

Analysis
Explora offers excellent lodges in remote locales, with good integration into the local community and usually very good local guiding and experiences, with all inclusive pricing. Explora Rapa Nui, Explora Patagonia, and Explora Atacama are all client favorites for their respective destinations, while Explora Valle Sagrado is also wonderful, but has more competition given the Belmond properties in Peru. A 50% bonus for purchased vouchers is great value if you know you'll use the vouchers before the October 2022 expiration, keeping in mind the current border and lodge closures and that certain holiday periods are ineligible.
