If I Separate Purchases at a Given Merchant Into Separae Consecutive Transactions Does That Count?
Not necessarily. Some vendors combine separate AMEX charges into a single transaction before submitting it to AMEX. In those cases, the combined transaction counts as a single purchase, not separate purchases. As an example, if you charge four items to your AMEX Platinum at the same online merchant at four separate times over one or more days, the merchant may combine those four charges and submit them as a single transaction. In that case, that combined transaction will count as one purchase.
