It's the last chance to apply for the Ink Plus, since the new Ink Business Preferred is set to launch November 14, and will replace the Ink Plus in terms of new applications (existing Ink Plus card members can continue to hold their current card). We just applied for one for my husband, since it's been over 2 years since he received a bonus for this card, and we'll need to call Reconsideration since, as is often the case with Chase business cards, his application went to pending.
Here are 3 reasons I recommend applying now for the Ink Plus if you're eligible for the signup bonus and are either under 5/24 or a Chase Private Client:
1. Last Chance to Earn the Signup Bonus for the Ink Plus
Since the Ink Plus application is slated to end by end of day tomorrow, Nov. 13, these are the last 2 days to apply for the card and earn the 60,000 signup bonus (may be able to earn a 70,000 signup bonus if applying in a Chase branch). Starting November 14, the Ink Business Preferred will be offered instead of the Ink Plus, for new applications.
2. Ink Plus 5X Categories are More Rewarding for Many Than the Ink Business Preferred 3X Categories
The Ink Plus and the Chase Sapphire Preferred are the two credit cards I use most, in terms of dollars spent. That's because the Ink Plus has such valuable 5X categories, earning 5X Ultimate Rewards points per dollar for:
- Cell phone services
- Internet and cable service
- Office supply stores
Office supply stores is what really drives my spend, since I purchase thousands of dollars worth of Amazon and Whole Foods cards each year to earn 5X on all Amazon spend and 5X on all Whole Foods spend. Amazon is particularly convenient, since you can buy Amazon gift cards in $100 denominations and load them to your Amazon account, then draw down the balance for Subscribe & Save subscriptions, Amazon streaming/movies, Amazon Fresh, etc.
3. You Can Still Apply for the Ink Business Preferred Later, as a Different Card Product
If you apply now for the Ink Plus, it doesn't prevent you from applying at a later time for the new Ink Business Preferred card, since it will be a new card product. So far Ink Plus cardholders will continue to receive the 5X benefits of the card, even though it won't be possible to apply for the card starting November 14. What you will want to watch for is if/when the Ink Plus is forcibly converted to the Ink Business Preferred, and make sure you don't get automatically converted before you're able to apply for the Ink Business Preferred with a signup bonus.
Do you qualify for an Ink Plus signup bonus and plan to apply before November 14?
