I Downloaded the Lufthansa App and Logged In, But the Miles Haven't Posted. When Do Miles Post?
They haven't posted for me either yet; give it 24 hours, then call the Miles & More Service Center. In the U.S., the number is 800-581-64-00, and it's available 8am-8pm, EST.
Will Earning These Miles Help Keep My Miles & More Miles From Expiring?
No; unlike many U.S. frequent flyer programs, Miles & More miles generally expire 36 months after earning, regardless of any subsequent earning activity. The exceptions are if you have elite Miles & More frequent flyer status, or if you have a Miles & More card and use it each billing cycle. Each mile helps, however, and since we have several thousand miles ending in 600, it will help us save transferring an extra thousand miles from SPG.
Is Lufthansa First Class Between the U.S. and Europe Worth the 85,000 Miles?
It depends what you value. I'd say it's especially worth it if you find award space from the West Coast, given how long the flight is, and that it's worth it between Europe and the East Coast at least once, if you've never flown it, and particularly if you also are able to enjoy the Lufthansa First Class Terminal at Frankfurt, with its sleeping rooms and even a bathtub with Lufthansa rubber ducks, plus car service right to your plane.
But if your destination is Switzerland, SWISS Business Class nonstop is convenient and good value at 52,000 miles, even if it's quite different from first class.
