What are the top 2015 new luxury hotel openings? While there are many new hotels that open each year, only a few of them are 5-star luxury hotels and resorts. Here are the openings TravelSort Clients are most anticipating:
1. Baccarat New York: Opening Late March 2015
After several years of no new luxury hotel openings in NYC, the Park Hyatt NYC opened last year, and soon the brand new Baccarat New York will be the very first Baccarat hotel in the world. Located at 20 West 53rd Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue, the hotel is in a convenient midtown location across the street from the Museum of Modern Art, steps from 5th Avenue shopping, and an easy walk to Central Park.
The hotel will have a stylish and elegant Parisian flair to it, from the Baccarat crystal accents and mirrors to its unique private art collection, curated by Paris art connoisseur Frederic Chambre. Entry level Classic King Rooms are 400-450 square feet with floor to ceiling windows, and higher room and suite categories include Grand Classic Rooms, Classic Suites, Prestige Suites, Harcourt Two Bedroom Suites and the expansive 1740 square feet Baccarat Suite.
Amenities include a beautiful spa and pool with day beds, complimentary house car service within 15 blocks of the hotel, and sumptuous dining at Chevalier, which boasts Restaurant Director Charles Masson of the former La Grenouille and Executive Chef Shea Gallante of Cru.

2. Aman Tokyo (December 2014 Opening)
Although Aman Tokyo opened at the end of 2014, I'll include it in this 2015 opening list, since most clients are waiting for it to become a Virtuoso member, which should happen soon in early 2015. The hotel is Aman Resorts‘ very first city hotel, and as such, it offers 84 rooms and suites, about twice as many as a typical Aman Resort.
If you're concerned about cramped Tokyo hotel rooms or simply crave a tranquil sanctuary in central Tokyo, Aman Tokyo should be high on your list: it offers the largest entry-level Tokyo hotel rooms, at 764 square feet. Each includes its own ofuro, a deep Japanese soaking tub, from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the city skyline. Particularly popular are Corner Suites, with floor to ceiling windows on two sides and 1302 square feet of living space.
Don't miss the beautiful light-filled Fitness Center and the 98 foot pool, again with views of the city skyline. Enjoy breakfast or dinner in the Restaurant on the 33rd floor, which is complemented by a 1200 bottle walk-in wine cellar.
3. Rosewood Baha Mar: Opening April 2015
I loved our recent stay at the Rosewood London, and clients have enjoyed fantastic stays at the Rosewood Mayakoba and some of Rosewood's Caribbean properties, so the new Rosewood Baha Mar in the Bahamas that will be opening in April 2015 is a very welcome addition for beach getaways.
Rosewood Baha Mar is located just 10 minutes from Nassau Airport (NAS) and will feature about 200 rooms and suites, many with ocean views or ocean front. Entry-level Deluxe Rooms are 485-585 square feet with private balconies, Pratesi linens, in-room Nespresso machines, and bathrooms with his and hers sinks as well as separate soaking tubs and glass enclosed showers.
Beachfront Villas are perfect for extended family vacations, with 3100 square feet of living space comprising 4 bedrooms, each with its en suite bathroom, 500 square foot deck and private poo, and a full kitchen and dining room with airy living room space. Also available are the services of a butler, private chef and assistance.

4. Four Seasons Casablanca: Opening mid-2015
While it hasn't gotten much English language press, the Four Seasons Casablanca will be striking, taking full advantage of its expansive ocean views and glorious sunsets. We loved our stay last year at the Four Seasons Marrakech, from its polished and friendly service and delicious Morroccan cuisine to its beautiful pools and flower arrangements (which echoed the dramatic displays of the Four Seasons Paris) to its superb Kids for All Seasons complimentary kids' club. And Casablanca, similar to Marrakech, is just a short nonstop flight from Spain: 2 hours from Madrid on Iberia.

5. Six Senses Zil Pasyon, Seychelles: Opening mid-2015
The Six Senses Zil Pasyon will be on the private island of Felicite, in the Seychelles, with just 30 villas, all of them with private pools. Access will be by boat from La Digue or Praslin islands, or by helicopter from Mahe Airport. The Seychelles are a favorite for honeymoons and romantic couple's escapes, although they can be challenging and/or expensive to get to in first class or business class using award travel. 6. Mandarin Oriental Milan: Opening TBD in 2015
Milan can be challenging for luxury hotels–there are only a few good properties, which tends to drive prices through the roof during peak season and times such as Fashion Week. The Mandarin Oriental Milan is a welcome brand new addition, although there's no set 2015 opening date, and as such it's not yet possible to book rooms and suites.
The Mandarin Oriental Milan will be located on Via Andegari, a short walk to the Duomo, La Scala, the luxury boutiques on Via della Spiga, and other sights. The 100 rooms and suites are designed with Italian flair and Asian accents, and the elegant marble bathrooms look especially beautiful. An especially nice feature is the 9687 square feet spa, with a pool, a rarity in Milan luxury hotel.
Mandarin Oriental Fan Club Benefits for TravelSort Clients
- One category room upgrade, subject to availability at check-in
- Personalized welcome amenity
- Complimentary continental breakfast for 2 daily
- $100 food and beverage or spa credit once during stay
