Here are the details for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Refer a Friend Offer:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred: Receive 5000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points for each friend referred by the Refer a Friend Link by 2/5/16 who applies by 3/5/16 and makes first use of the card by 6/3/16
- Refer up to 10 friends
- Maximum bonus for successfully referring 10 friends is 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points per calendar year across all referral offers
- Allow 6-8 weeks after a new cardmember's first use of the card for bonus points to post to your account
- If a referred friend already has the Chase card or the email address is in the email opt-out database, no email will be sent
- Chase Employees are not eligible for any Refer a Friend bonuses
And here are the details for the Ink Plus Refer a Friend Offer:
- Ink Plus: Receive 5000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points for each friend referred by the Refer a Friend Link by 1/16/15 who applies by 2/14/16 and makes first use of the card by 5/14/16
- Refer as many businesses as you want
- Earn 10,000 Ultimate Rewards points for each business owner you refer who is approved for the Ink Plus and uses the card by 5/14/16
- Maximum bonus is 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points per calendar year via Refer-A-Business
- Allow 6-8 weeks after a new cardmember's first use of the card for bonus points to post to your account
- If a referred business already has the Chase card or the email address is in the email opt-out database, no email will be sent
- Chase Employees are not eligible for any Refer a Business bonuses
I suggest clicking on the Twitter or Facebook icons to get your unique referral link, instead of relying on the Chase email, which could take a week to reach them (and some have reported never receiving it). Paste your Facebook or Twitter referral link into your own email to the friends you want to refer.
Can I Earn Referral Bonuses for Both the Chase Sapphire Preferred and the Ink Plus?
Yes, you can, although it's unclear whether the maximum number of Ultimate Rewards points you can earn is still 50,000 points across all referral offers, or potentially 100,000 points, up to 50K for all Chase Refer a Friend personal cards, and up to 50K for all Ink Plus referrals. The fact that the FAQ for the Ink Plus does specifically allude to “Refer a Business” and that the referral offer is 10,000 points per business successfully referred, vs. 5000 per friend successfully referred to the Chase Sapphire Preferred, make me think these may be considered separate referral programs, each with a 50,000 maximum. I'll updated this post if I find out definitively what the maximum is.
What Are the Best Ways to Use Chase Ultimate Rewards Points?
My favorite ways to use Chase Ultimate Rewards points are transfers to Singapore KrisFlyer to book Singapore Suites on the A380 or Singapore New Business Class; transfers to Korean Air Skypass to book Korean Air First Class; and more occasionally, transferring a few points to my United MileagePlus account or British Airways Executive Club account for a specific redemption.
