75K Citi AAdvantage Executive Card: AAdvantage Miles at Almost Half a Cent Each

75K Citi AAdvantage Executive Card: AAdvantage Miles at Almost Half a Cent Each

There's a 75,000 Citi Executive AAdvantage bonus (link on the Best Travel Credit Cards page) offer that, taking into account the $450 annual fee (not waived) allows you to buy AAdvantage miles at 0.6 cents each–nearly half a cent per mile, which is a great deal. This is better than the 50K Citi Executive AAdvantage offer that has been around for awhile, although unfortunately it's no longer possible to get the bonus again and again for this card, at least not very frequently (see FAQ below). Here are the details:

  • Earn 75,000 AAdvantage miles after spending $7500 within the first 3 months of card membership
  • Earn up to $100 in statement credit for spend within the first 12 months
  • Enjoy Admirals Club membership (value of $475) for you and immediate family members (or up to two guests accompanying you)
  • $100 Global Entry Statement Credit
  • Earn 10,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) after spending $40,000 each calendar year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Earn two AAdvantage miles per $1 spent on eligible American Airlines purchases
  • Chip and signature card
  • $450 annual fee (not waived)

Best AAdvantage Miles Awards

A few of my favorite uses of AAdvantage miles are Etihad First ApartmentsCathay Pacific First ClassEtihad First Class and Qantas First Class. While less aspirational, I also had a good recent flight in Air Berlin Business Class.

Should I Apply for the 75K Citi Executive AAdvantage or the 50K-100K Citi Prestige Offer?

Both of these premium cards include access to American Admirals Club Lounges. You may be able to apply for both, although not on the same day, since Citi does not permit more than one Citi card application within a 1 week period. If you're targeted for the 100K Citi Prestige, I'd definitely apply for it, and then about 8 days later, if you're eligible for the Citi Executive AAdvantage, I'd apply for it as well. I personally have a lot more uses for AAdvantage miles than Citi ThankYou points, since the only transfer option that I like with Citi ThankYou points is Singapore KrisFlyer.
