Villa La Coste is our favorite luxury hotel in the Aix-en-Provence area. A peaceful haven set amidst the estate's vineyards, it has just 31 rooms and suites.

Breakfast at La Galerie par Hélène Darroze
Breakfast is served at La Galerie, the hotel's main restaurant, in the lobby lounge area. On nice days, we highly recommend getting there early for a spot on the terrace, to take in the wonderful views of the vineyards and Luberon Valley.

Breakfast is served a la carte, with dishes made to order, as befits a luxury boutique hotel. Here's the breakfast menu during our stay:

I started with a Smoothie of the Day, which included a variety of berries and pineapple juice and was excellent.

While waiting for the omelette I ordered, I sampled a plate of local goat and sheep's milk cheeses with the hotel's housemade walnut bread; some delicious homemade jams and honey were also provided. The cheeses were excellent; highly recommended for cheese lovers.

Creamy plain yogurt came in its own earthenware pot, with berries and homemade granola in separate bowls:

The omelette hit the spot, with the aged Comte cheese a nice contrast with the fresh herbs.

My husband tried the caramelized French Toast, which he enjoyed, although it did take quite some time for it to be prepared.

There are also fresh whole fruits available, and of course, homemade pastries / viennoiserie: croissants, pains au chocolat, pain aux raisins.

We enjoyed both a pain aux raisins and pain aux chocolats, together with a well-crafted cappuccino, whimsically topped with a bunny design.

This was our favorite breakfast in France on this trip: highly recommended for our clients venturing to the south of France.
