The Chase Freedom 5X Calendar for Q2 2020 (April-June) has been released, and the categories are grocery stores and gym memberships. In ordinary times, both would be great for staying healthy, although during the coronavirus, given the need for social distancing, chances are many folks will be avoiding gyms, if not grocery stores, at least during peak hours. That is, except for those engaging in panic buying at their local Whole Foods or Trader Joe's–the lines at some of these stores in Manhattan recently have been crazy, and our local Whole Foods the other day had completely bare shelves for pasta sauce, frozen vegetables and frozen fruits.
.
Grocery Stores is our favorite Chase Freedom 5X category, which we max out with our 4 Chase Freedom cards to earn 30,000 Ultimate Rewards points ($1500 at 5X per card, so 7500 x 4), not because we consume $6000 worth of groceries over 3 months, but it's easy to buy that amount of grocery gift cards that we continue to use throughout the year. For us, we buy Trader Joe's gift cards, since we regularly earn 5X on all Whole Foods spend by using our Ink Cash card to buy Whole Foods gift cards at an office supply store.
Today, March 14, is also the last day to activate the Q1 2020 Chase Freedom categories of gas, internet, phone and streaming.
