This JK Place Paris Review is one of our many Paris posts and luxury hotel reviews. Previously the Norwegian Embassy in Paris, Architect Michele Bonan transformed it into the ideal Parisian pied-à-terre for those in the know. It has just 29 rooms and suites, each individually decorated, and the discreet, attentive staff known to guests of its Capri and Rome hotels.
.
JK Place Paris Location and Check-In
JK Place Paris is located at 82 Rue de Lille on the Rive Gauche, a 4-minute walk from the Musee d'Orsay, 17-minute walk to the Louvre Museum, a 1-minute walk to the Assemblée Nationale Metro Station (Line 12) and an 8-minute walk to the Invalides Metro Station (Lines 8 and 13). It's often our first recommendation when a client prefers boutique hotels and wants to be on the Left Bank, a livelier and more charming area than the ritzy shopping area of the Champs-Élysées, where so many luxury hotels cluster.
The more personalized approach is immediately evident when arriving to the cozy reception area to check-in; you're invited to sit down at one of two desks, offered a drink, and given an actual key to your room or suite, instead of an electronic key card (don't worry about the heft; guests are invited to leave the key at the desk when going out).

JK Place Paris Deluxe Room
The 29 rooms and suites are each individually decorated. The Classic Room is the smallest, suitable for a solo guest. We'd reserved the Superior King, which is 332 sq. ft. The next category is the Prestige King (365 sq. ft.), but we were kindly double upgraded to a Deluxe King (377 sq. ft.)

.
To the right of the entrance was a convenient walk-in closet.

.
Next was an armoire with Evian mineral water and a welcome amenity of seasonal fresh fruit: apricots, cherries and peaches.

.
The complimentary soft drink mini bar was a nice touch, especially the Alain Milliat Sengana Strawberry Nectar.

.
Next on the right was the bathroom, with double sinks, separate toilet chamber, and a spacious rain shower. A welcome touch (especially for chilly days) is the option to heat the bathroom floor.

.

.
Bath products are by Alma K exclusively for JK Place, utilizing Dead Sea minerals that are therapeutic for the skin and hair.

.
The room itself, while not huge, gained an airier feel from the high ceiling, while an orchid lent a residential feel.

.

.
The bed's mattress was a bit too firm for our taste (I used my Thermarest mattress pad to create more cushion), but the pillows were wonderful, and there were plenty of them: six for the two of us.

.
On the desk were some additional edible treats: bites of lemon cake with piped lemon curd and fresh raspberry were perfect for enjoying with some of the provided Dammann Freres tea (or for coffee lovers, the Italian Mogi coffee).

.

.
There were also rosemary snacks, potato sticks, a classic nut mix, and a trio of excellent chocolate bars; our favorite was the one with dark chocolate and Amalfi lemon, a nod to JK Place's Italian heritage.

Breakfast at Casa Tua Restaurant
TravelSort Clients enjoy complimentary breakfast at JK Place Paris' Casa Tua Restaurant, which serves breakfast 7-11am daily.

.
We were welcomed with a refreshing juice shot. I liked the elegant setting: white tablecloth, fresh rose on each table.

.
Given the hotel's small size, a la carte menu service is offered, instead of a buffet.

.

.
We were offered housemade pastries; the Chausson aux Pommes was superb.

.
I enjoyed the most beautiful and tastiest avocado toast with poached egg I've ever had at a restaurant.

.
I thought my husband's Pain Perdu (French Toast) didn't look like anything special, but he insisted it was fantastic, thanks to the caramelization.

.
We also shared some Greek yogurt with berries and homemade granola, which was excellent.

Fitness Center, Spa, Pool
We prefer to get our exercise walking around the city, but there's a well-equipped fitness center for those with a regular workout routine.

.
The swimming pool was undergoing a renovation during our stay.

.
Some hotels would simply notify guests that the pool wasn't available, but my husband, who swims, was happy to discover that JK Place Paris had arranged for him and other guests to have access to the pool and wellness facilities at the Rosewood's Hôtel de Crillon, about a 13-minute walk away. Despite the walk, it ended up being the best of both worlds, since he got access to a longer lap pool and sauna.

The Verdict
We loved the fantastic service during our stay at JK Place Paris, from the double upgrade to the prompt Concierge responses to our pre-arrival emails, to the attentive breakfast staff. Our room was thoughtfully appointed, from the walk-in closet to the heated bathroom floor, spacious rain shower, complimentary non-alcoholic mini bar, and fresh fruit and other treats. The only things I'd have changed are the mattress, which was a bit too firm for our taste, and the smallish window overlooking the courtyard, although this did mean the room was perfectly quiet, no noise whatsoever.
