60K Citi AAdvantage Platinum and 60K CitiBusiness AAdvantage offers have returned per Reddit, and have been added to our Best Travel Credit Cards page. The 60K offers were available earlier this year, but then expired and were replaced by 50K offers. Note that both of these offers do have the 24 month restriction–see the details below.

- First checked bag free on domestic American Airlines flights
- Note that you are not eligible for the bonus miles if you have had this same card opened or closed in the past 24 months.
60K Citi AAdvantage Business Card

Am I Eligible if I've Closed a Citi AAdvantage Card Recently?
No: as per Citi's terms, bonus AAdvantage miles are “not available to you for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card if you've had any Citi AAdvantage card (except the CitiBusiness AAdvantage card) opened or closed in the past 24 months.” Likewise, you won't recive the 60K bonus for the CitiBusiness AAdvantage card if you've had any CitiBusiness AAdvantage card opened or closed in the past 24 months.
If These Are My First AAdvantage Cards Should I Apply for Both Cards on the Same Day?
No, definitely not. For some time now, Citi has not allowed you to apply for more than one Citi credit card at a time. Instead, you should wait 8 days after applying for a Citi AAdvantage card before applying for another Citi card of any kind. And if you'd like to be approved for a third Citi card, wait 65 days after the second Citi card application, as usually Citi doesn't approve more than one application in an 8 day period, and doesn't permit more than two applications within a 65 day period.
When Will the 60K Bonus AAdvantage Miles Post to My AAdvantage Account?
Per Citi's terms, the bonus miles will usually “appear as a bonus in your AAdvantage account 8-10 weeks after you have met the purchase requirements.”
Is 60K the Highest Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Bonus Offer?
Yes, 60K is the highest public Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select offer I've seen in the past few years. There hasn't been a higher public offer, to my knowledge (feel free to comment if your experience is different) since the 75K Citi AAdvantage bonus offers died in 2011. On the other hand, there can be higher 75K targeted offers, so be sure to check your snail mail for targeted higher offers.
What Are Some Good First Class and Business Class Awards Using AAdvantage Miles?
Some of the AAdvantage awards I recommend most are JAL First Class to Japan or Korea for 80,000 AAdvantage miles each way, or JAL Business Class for 60,000 AAdvantage miles. While this is more than Alaska, on several occasions I've found only AAdvantage to have award availability, while there was none for those dates with Alaska MileagePlan miles.
Another award popular with clients is Cathay Pacific Business Class to Hong Kong or Southeast Asia for 70,000 AAdvantage miles each way. Again, this award is cheaper with Alaska miles, at just 50,000 miles, but as with JAL, it may not be available, particularly if you have a connecting flight between Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia. That was the case for us when I booked an award for one of us using Alaska miles, and the other with AAdvantage. The one booked with Alaska miles was unable to book the segment from elsewhere in Southeast Asia to Hong Kong in Business Class, only in Economy, while the one booked with AAdvantage miles had no problem booking that segment in Business Class. So even with the higher mileage cost over Alaska, it can be worth getting access to greater award space with AAdvantage miles.
Other popular awards include Etihad First Apartment on the A380 (although note that this award is quite pricey, after the 2016 AAdvantage Award Chart Devaluation, at 115K miles each way); Qatar Business Class via Doha to South Africa, at 75,000 miles each way.
