This Korean Air First Class Lounge Review at Seoul Incheon ICN is from prior to our Korean Air First Class Kosmo Suite 2.0 flight, review forthcoming. This lounge is Seoul Incheon's new Terminal 2, which opened just over a year ago in January 2018 prior to the Winter Olympics. Read on for Korean Air First Class Lounge ICN photos, video and a critique of the lounge, or browse all our Airport Lounge Reviews.
Korean Air First Class Lounge Location, Access and Hours
The Korean Air First Class Lounge at Seoul Incheon Airport, Terminal 2 is located after security, near gate 248, up an escalator on the 2nd floor. The lounge is open daily from 4am-12 midnight, and access is restricted to Korean Air First Class departing passengers; it is not an arrival lounge.
The Korean Air First Class Lounge entrance is in the below video, of Korean Air Kosmo Suite 2.0:
Lounge Amenities
After entering the lounge, you'll find lockers on the right, handy for stowing baggage you don't need while in the lounge.
This is a small lounge, seating only about 25 passengers, although stylishly designed with the curving walls of the solo, duo and quad “pods” providing quite a bit of privacy.
If wanting to rest your eyes or relax, the day beds (which are in a fixed recline position, they do not recline fully flat) by the windows are a good bet. The lounge has a view of the terminal, but no windows looking out onto the tarmac, unfortunately for aviation geeks.
We chose a roomy pod of 4 armchairs, each of which had a power outlet convenient to it, since I needed to do some work and my son was hungry for a light dinner.
Note that there's just one toilet for men and one for women, and one shower room, so depending on how many passengers are visiting the lounge at the same time, you may have to wait. During our entire visit there was someone using the shower room, so I was glad I wasn't depending on the lounge facility and had enjoyed a shower back at the Four Seasons Seoul.
Lounge Food and Drink
There's a dining room with some seating near the cold and hot buffet:
The cold buffet offerings during our visit included sandwiches; salads; cut fresh fruit such as pineapple and melon; yogurt and the like.
The hot buffet offerings were interesting: in addition to some decent steamed fish and marinated roast pork, there were also snails in cream sauce–not something I've seen in another airport lounge.
A staff member also came proactively to us and asked if we'd like to order something from the a la carte menu, which primarily featured made to order pastas, although there was also a soup option. My son enjoyed his Linguine Carbonara (pictured in the above video), and I was glad it was a relatively small portion, as it's very rich.
Soft drinks included sodas, juice, and bottled water:
Surprisingly, the spirits selection is quite modest: Jack Daniels whiskey, Remy Martin XO cognac, Beefeater gin and the like.
There's also a freezer case of Haagen Dazs ice cream:
The Verdict
The Korean Air First Class Lounge at Seoul ICN Terminal 2 isn't huge, but it's tastefully designed, with the curving walls providing a fair amount of privacy for the various seating areas, even though there are no private rooms. I liked that there were day beds by the windows for napping or resting, although these are in fixed positions and don't recline to a fully flat position. There's a power outlet conveniently located by each seat, and WiFi worked fine.
I also appreciated the choice of being able to select a la carte options made to order, even though there was also a small cold and hot buffet. The food is nothing special, however–quality-wise, it's what you could expect from some of the better international business class lounges in Asia, such as Cathay Pacific Business Class lounges in Hong Kong, except Cathay's are larger and offer more choices on the buffet as well as drinks.
Unfortunately, there's only one shower room, and it was occupied during our visit, so don't count on necessarily being able to take a shower here. There's also only one bathroom each for men and women, so you may have to wait for that as well.
If you've visited the Korean First Class Lounge Seoul ICN, what was your impression?

This looks nothing like a First Class lounge. What a shame.
Yes, the Korean Air First Class Lounge in Seoul, while the seating pods are nicely designed, is very small, so anyone expecting something more expansive with different rooms, multiple shower rooms, etc. is going to be disappointed.
