This luxury resort isn't new, but it oozes Cozy Charm Amid Nature and Beautiful Views. And even though it regularly runs at high occupancy, there's ample privacy, especially for its suites.
We got there later than planned, around 3pm, and went straight to the restaurant for a late lunch. The beautiful weather lent itself to dining on the restaurant's expansive outdoor terrace:
.
Having called ahead, the restaurant was kind enough to have made lunch for us: a burger for my husband, and a delicious quesadilla with smoked steak for me. The portions were so generous we should have just ordered one dish, but the quesadillas in particular were very satisfying.
.
Afterwards, we checked into our suite, which was unassuming from the outside but wonderfully cozy inside, with its wooden interiors, high ceilings, four poster bed, and even a working fireplace:
.
The outdoor deck included a round day bed, loungers, and even its own jacuzzi (covered, in the far right of the photo), which we enjoyed at night:
.
Fortunately, our suite was near one of the two pools, so my husband managed a swim:
.
While we were somewhat off schedule due to our late lunch, we made it back to the restaurant terrace just before 5pm to enjoy a complimentary cocktail during the resort's 4-5pm happy hour.
.
A couple hours later we enjoyed dinner, where we focused on seafood and lighter dishes to offset our hearty lunch. The prawns with chimichurri were spectacular, and the scallops with grilled leeks were very good as well.
.
After dinner we relaxed in the Japanese Baths, which are enclosed on the side but open air above. It was cloudy the night we were there, but it must be magical to soak and look up at the stars.
.
In the morning, we had a great start to the day with a breakfast of Eggs Benedict with Crab and Avocado and French Toast with Blueberries, Creme Fraiche, and Streusel, plus a side of yogurt with blueberries and Goji Granola.
.
Our time was running out, but we managed to get in a two hour hike with beautiful views:
.
We enjoyed the views from the main pool and jacuzzi:
.
We just had time for a quick wander in the organic garden, and a taste of the delicious passion fruit cocktail by the pool, then it was time for us to go.
.
Can you guess the resort?
