Banyan Tree Bimini, Bahamas

The new Banyan Tree Bimini Resort in the Bahamas will be the first Banyan Tree resort in the Caribbean when it opens in 2025. Banyan Tree is known for its resorts in Thailand and Mexico, and we're keen to see the quality of service the Singaporean-based Banyan Tree brings to the Caribbean, which historically has had service issues compared to luxury peers in Asia and Mexico.

Getting to Banyan Tree Bimini Resort

The resort is located on Rockwell Island, less than a 30 minute flight by seaplane or private jet from Miami, and about a 3 hour or less private jet flight from other major U.S. destinations such as NYC, Washington, DC, and Dallas. A new seaplane terminal will be developed in collaboration with Tropic Ocean Airways, with customs and immigration facilities.

Banyan Tree Bimini Resort

The resort, spanning 750 acres, will feature 24 beachfront villas and 26 overwater bungalows (a feature more typically found in the Maldives and Bora Bora/French Polynesia), and the Bonito Beach Club in its first phase of development, with design led by Oppenheim Architecture. Bonito, which will operate the beach club, is known for its French Pan-American cuisine at its namesake restaurant in St. Barths, as well as its sister restaurant, Betula Aspen, in Colorado.

The subsequent phase of the Banyan Tree Bimini development will include a deepwater superyacht marina, an 18-hole golf course, and a members’ clubhouse.
