Virgin Limited Edition will open a new Mallorca hotel in 2023, expanding Son Bunyola, which is currently home to three luxury villas.
Son Bunyola Location
Son Bunyola is located in the Serra de Tramuntana area of Mallorca, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2011. Other luxury hotels in Serra de Tramuntana include La Residencia, a Belmond Hotel, Jumeirah Port Soller, and the future Four Seasons Mallorca, which will also open in 2023. The resort is about a 40 minute drive from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) which is served by nonstop flights from Barcelona, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Geneva, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Munich, Paris, Stockholm, Vienna, Zurich, and a number of other European cities.

Son Bunyola Rooms and Amenities
The hotel will be formed by renovating Son Bunyola's finca (traditional farming manor), which dates back to the 15th century and is surrounded by citrus, almond, and olive trees. The new boutique luxury property will have 26 rooms and suites, all with beautiful views, and including two Tower Suites, one of which was originally a medieval tower.

There will also be two restaurants with outdoor terraces, including a tapas bar in the estate's original olive press. A wholly new outdoor swimming pool will enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
The project is being designed with sustainable features, including a biomass boiler powered by recycled wood chips, a water heating system that uses energy generated by the air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and water reuse for irrigation.
Son Bunyola also welcomes General Manager, Vincent Padioleau, who previously helmed Kasbah Tamadot in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, where he recruited all the hotel's staff from the local Berber community. Padioleau, who is fluent in Spanish, looks forward to similarly employing locals at Son Bunyola and sourcing local ingredients and products whenever possible.
