Six Senses Belize is Being Developed on a private island near Ambergris Caye. Six Senses isn't the only luxury hotel opening in Belize; the Four Seasons Caye Chapel Belize, originally planned to open late 2021 but delayed due to the pandemic, will likely open in 2022. Six Senses Belize is expected to open a few years later, in mid-2025.

Six Senses Belize Location and Getting There
The new resort will be located on a private island on a 10-acre private island, 1.7 miles across the water from Secret Beach, which is about a 30 minute drive from San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. Ambergris Caye can be reached by boat or helicopter from Belize City, which is just over a 2 hour flight from Miami and less than a 5 hour flight from NYC.

Six Senses Belize Resort Amenities
As with Four Seasons Caye Chapel, Six Senses Belize will overwater bungalows, something that most of our U.S.-based clients have only been able to experience in the Maldives, for example at Velaa or Joali, or in the South Pacific, for example at Four Seasons Bora Bora. In addition to the three-bedroom retreat villa most of the 44 one and two bedroom villas will be overwater.
The private island part of the resort includes inner wetlands and mangrove forests, sustainably protected as a natural preservation area. The south of the island also enjoys unspoiled horizon views, which will be shared by an overwater sunset bar, All-Day Dining Village, BBQ Hut serving freshly cooked seasonal catches, communal outdoor pool, and children’s club.

Six Senses Spa and Wellness Village will be the beating heart of the resort. This offers inward-looking, healing experiences among the existing mangroves at the edge of the wetlands. Initially, it will feature an Alchemy Bar, Holistic Anti-Aging Center, fitness center, indoor and outdoor treatment areas, Temazcal lodge and outdoor yoga pavilion. Spa treatments and wellness programs will focus on natural healing, energy medicine and traditional Mayan practices. Nestled within the organic gardens to the north is the plant-forward Leaf restaurant and a raised viewing lounge, offering a completely different experience, high in the canopy and framing the pure night sky.
A 5 minute boat ride away from the private island is Secret Beach, a private beachfront area that will offer a plethora of water sports. There are plans for organic gardens complemented by a labyrinth, mushroom hut, cooking school, food market and teens’ club. Another outdoor pool, ice cream parlor, overwater restaurant and Cinema Paradiso offer nightlife.
During the short boat ride between Secret Beach and the private island, guests pass a large sandbar, with unimaginably turquoise waters. This also belongs to the property and will be the setting for private picnics, reconnection experiences and intimate wedding celebrations.
