Park Hyatt Johannesburg to Open 2023

The Park Hyatt Johannesburg will open in 2023 as the second Park Hyatt in Africa, after the Park Hyatt Zanzibar in Tanzania. It will be a rebrand of the current Winston Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg, which will undergo an extensive renovation in 2022 prior to the reflagging.

The current future Park Hyatt Johannesburg (current Winston) is located at 6 Tottenham Avenue in Melrose Estate, about a half hour drive from Johannesburg Airport (JNB). The Apartheid Museum and Soweto is about a 15-25 minute drive from the hotel, while Constitution Hill, which chronicles South Africa's transition from colonialism and apartheid to democracy, is a ~20 minute drive. Popular restaurants and bars and notable galleries are walking distance away. Guests can also easily access Rosebank Gautrain Station, as well as thriving shopping and entertainment attractions, including The Zone and Rosebank Mall.

The renovated hotel will offer 30 guest rooms and suites, all with king size beds. The hotel’s restaurant will include a spacious dining room and an outdoor terrace for refined, al-fresco dining, overlooking its picturesque swimming pool. The hotel will also feature an atmospheric bar with an open-air courtyard.

Interior designer Yabu Pushelberg will spearhead the renovation. Pushelberg has worked on the Park Hyatt New York, Park Hyatt Bangkok and Park Hyatt Shenzhen, as well as the Ritz-Carlton NoMad in NYC. Curated interiors and contemporary architecture will combine indoor and outdoor elements, inviting guests to lose themselves in a romantic and layered experience rooted in the surrounding landscape.
