Review: Four Seasons Lounge Honolulu Airport

Four Seasons Lounge Honolulu Airport

This Four Seasons Lanai Lounge at Honolulu Airport Review is part of our Hawaii trip report, including our Delta One to Hawaii Review, Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, and other luxury hotel reviews on Lanai and Maui. Visiting the Aloha State? See all our posts tagged Hawaii.

Four Seasons Lanai Lounge at Honolulu Airport Location, Hours and Access

The Four Seasons Lanai Lounge is located near Gates D1 and D2 (after security in Ticketing Lobby/Check-in 4) in the Overseas Terminal of Honolulu Airport (HNL), the main terminal where mainland and international flights arrive at and depart from. This works well for most guests, who transfer directly from a mainland or international flight to either a scheduled Hawaiian Airlines flight to Lanai or a charter Lanai Air flight.

If you're staying on Oahu as we were, and checking in at the InterIsland Terminal for a Hawaiian Air flight, it can be a bit of a walk to get there.

The Four Seasons Lounge is open daily from 8am to 6:30pm and is open to all guests with reservations at the Four Seasons Lanai. Please note that it is not available to guests of the other Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii, such as Four Seasons Maui at Wailea or Four Seasons at Hualalai on the Big Island.

Be on the lookout for the Four Seasons Lanai sign, indicating the lounge, which will be on your right hand side when walking from the main food court towards the B or C gates, or on the left if walking in the opposite direction.

Once you enter, the lounge host will greet you, and invite you to stow any larger cases in the luggage cubicles.

The lounge itself is one large room, but very tastefully decorated, with alcoves along the walls providing another seating option, in addition to the armchairs in the center. Each armchair has its own power outlets to charge phones and devices.

Review-Four Seasons Lanai Lounge, Honolulu Airport

We were brought cool oshibori towels to refresh with, as well as the drink list and menu of light snacks and fruits:

As you can see from the menu, at the time of our visit, the lounge password was lovelanai.

While my husband and I were still full from the bountiful buffet breakfast at Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina, our son was already a little hungry and happy to have a snack of yogurt with granola, while my husband had a small cappuccino, both of them tasty.

And while our son has largely outgrown kid-specific amenities, it's nice to know that the lounge does offer Four Seasons Lanai coloring books, blocks and (with parents' permission of course) iPads for kids to pass the time while in the lounge.

The Verdict

The Four Seasons Lanai Lounge at Honolulu Airport, due to its location in the main Honolulu International Airport terminal, is most useful when transferring directly from or to a mainland or international flight. It's not very large, but we were the only guests during the time of our visit, which made it seem very private. I liked that our luggage was already tagged to our resort room in the lounge, and that the friendly lounge host was able to help with questions and reservations, although in our case we'd already made dining reservations in advance. Something to note, however, is that the lounge does not have its own bathroom or any shower. You'll need to use the regular airport bathroom, located seconds away, and wait to have your shower at the resort on Lanai.
