La Residence de la Pinede Will Become Cheval Blanc St Tropez on May 16, 2019. Cheval Blanc is the luxury hotel and resort brand of Louis Vuitton, LVMH, and until now has had just three properties: the original Cheval Blanc Courchevel, a luxury ski in, ski out resort in the French alps; Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives; and Cheval Blanc St. Barth Ile de France in St. Barts. These three will be joined on May 16, 2019 by Cheval Blanc St Tropez in the French Riviera, as Cheval Blanc will be taking over La Residence de la Pinede.

With just 36 rooms and suites, La Residence de la Pinede is a beautiful luxury boutique property and hideaway on the French Riviera. Rates during the summer start at EUR 1250 per night for a 330 sq. ft. Courtyard Classic Room, up to EUR 3300 per night for a 430-538 sq ft. Sea Suite, and EUR 6600 per night for the 970 sq ft. Duplex Pinede Suite.

In shoulder season, rates start at EUR 750 per night for Courtyard Classic and EUR 1100 per night for Superior Sea Rooms, and EUR 2100 per night for Sea Suites and EUR 3400 per night for the Duplex Pinede Suite.

It's the only hotel in St. Tropez with its own private beach, and its infinity pool, pictured in the first photo of the post, likewise offers stunning views of the bay.

And a huge highlight of the hotel is the 3 Michelin Star La Vague d'Or, helmed by Chef Arnaud Donckele, who in 2013, at age 35, became the youngest three Michelin starred chef. La Vague d'Or in no small part makes for a great fit with Cheval Blanc, given the emphasis placed on excellent food. Le 1947 at Cheval Blanc Randheli was easily our best meal ever in the Maldives, in our 7 stays at 6 different luxury Maldives resorts.

Currently, Cheval Blanc St Tropez can be booked with AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits for clients who have an AMEX Platinum or Centurion card, but in the future the hotel is expected to join Virtuoso, to which all other Cheval Blanc resorts belong.
