60K Ink Plus Still Available: 5X on Amazon, Whole Foods, Starbucks, Gap

60K Ink Plus Still Available: 5X on Amazon, Whole Foods, Starbucks, Gap

The 60K Ink Plus Business Card is still available via referral links, enabling you to earn 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points as a signup bonus and 5X on cell phone, cable and internet spend, as well as office supply store spend, including Amazon, Whole Foods, Starbucks, Gap and other store gift cards. Here are the offer details:

  • Earn 60,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.
  • Earn 5X points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on cell phone, landline, Internet and cable TV services each account anniversary year
  • Earn 2X points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and for hotels when purchased directly with the hotel each account anniversary year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • $95 annual fee is *not* waived the first year

Why You May Want to Get the Ink Plus

The Ink Plus is no longer available online or in Chase branches, having been replaced by the Ink Business Preferred. The Ink Business Preferred has a higher signup bonus of 80,000 points vs. 60,000 points, but the Ink Business Preferred doesn't have any 5X categories; it only earns 3X per dollar on travel, shipping, Internet, cable, phone, and advertising on social media sites and search engines.

There's no guarantee how long Chase will continue to offer the Ink Plus, with its 5X categories, through the referral channel, before closing out the product entirely. And given that it's getting harder to earn signup bonuses for many credit cards, if you've never had an Ink Plus card or are eligible for the 60K signup bonus again, it's a good card to get before it goes away entirely.

Another Strategy for 5X on Amazon, Whole Foods, Gap and Other Stores

Another strategy if you aren't able to apply for the 60K Ink Plus before it goes away, say because of 5/24 denials, is to wait and later apply for the Ink Cash, which is promoted as a cash back card but also earns 5X on the same categories as the Ink Plus, just with a $25,000 combined limit per year for 5X categories, instead of $50,000, and with 2X for gas stations and restaurants, instead of gas stations and hotels. The card has no annual fee, but if you also have the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Sapphire Preferred, you can transfer the points you earn with the Ink Cash out to Ultimate Rewards partners such as Singapore KrisFlyer, Korean Air Sky Pass, Air France/KLM FlyingBlue, United MileagePlus, etc.

Do you have the Ink Plus or plan to get it for its bonus and 5X categories, while it's still available?
